How Does k12pages Work?

k12pages is a web based system designed to help your school personnel easily create and maintain the school's web site using the k12pages system.

k12pages Model - Within minutes your school's web page will be up and running using the k12page model. This model is designed to provide an attractive, customizable look that maximizes functionality. Within this model the webmaster is provided easy tools to set up staff accounts, customize the look of the page, set up the general navigation systems, and post content. The staff members are responsible for setting up and maintaining their own classes.

Web Hosting - Your school's webpage and data will reside on our servers*. Virtually all information is stored via database (versus static page) in order to provide custom and timely delivery to the users.

CSS Customization - Customize the look through our CSS Editor. You may also select to copy the look of any other school or district in the k12pages network.

Layout and Navigation Bar - Alter the layout of the homepage and navigation bar to suit your school's needs.

Content Generation - An intuitive interface allows your staff easy access to publishing web content. One of our main goals is to allow all educational staff access to post content on the web in a coordinated and logical fashion.

Content Consumers - The OneStop Acccount was designed to provide parents and students a place to organize the information they need in one place.

Does k12pages.com offer attendance services?
No. Please continue to use your school's attendance program.

Does k12pages.com offer grading programs or a means to post grades?
If your school is using Easy Grade Pro you may upload data from Easy Grade Pro into your k12pages site. k12pages does not offer a gradebook program.

Does k12pages.com offer email services?
No. Please continue to use your district's mail server.

Does k12pages.com offer web page creation services?
No. k12pages believes that content and design should be in the control of the primary vested users. Every school and community is different. The best way to meet your needs and ensure longevity of your website is self creation.

Will k12pages.com help convert our existing page?
No. With k12pages new pages and navigational links are easy to create. Quite often static school web pages have been built over time by several webmasters and are in need of reorganization. Moving over to k12pages offers school personnel the opportunity to create something fresh and new.

What will be our school's URL?
The initial URL will be "http://www.k12pages.com/shortname". The shortname is a unique identifying name that you will create for your school upon sign up. For example, if your school name is Logandale High School in the Jasper County School District, you might choose a shortnames such as "lhs-jcsd", "lhs", or even "logandale". Once you have contracted with k12pages for web services, as second shorter URL will be activated in this form "http://shortname.k12pages.com"

How will people find our new page? Our old address is on all of our letterhead.
It is recommended that you keep your current school URL and create a redirect from that page to your new k12pages site.
