Welcome to the Floyd Dryden Girls’ Basketball Team!  The season will start with intramurals on October 11, 2011. Our first game will be on November 3rd. Practices will be held after school Monday through Thursday from 3:05pm-5:00pm so students will have to make arrangements for transportation home.  We will have at least 4 games this season and game days will take place on Thursdays.  All students who participate in A, B, or C team must have a physical on record. We will have a Hooptime/Rebounders Tournament at the end of the season and we might also be traveling with our team during the week of November ^17th.  We will let you know what the schedule is as soon as we iron out the details with the other coaches.

Player Responsibilities:

Students are expected to attend all practices and games.  Excused absences require a note from a parent/guardian.  Students who are absent from school on a game day cannot be permitted to play in a game.  We also expect players to exhibit a positive attitude and team sportsmanship at all times, on and off the field.

Physical Examinations:

A current physical is mandatory in order to practice with the team.  A copy of the exam documentation must be on file with the school nurse. Physicals have already been made available to Floyd Dryden students so if your student still needs one, please get one from a community health care provider.

Medical Release Form:

Must be completed by parents/guardians.  Students need to turn the form into their coaches in order to continue practicing.

Grade Checks:

In order to participate in basketball games, students must maintain a “C” average in all classes, with no failing grades.  A grade check means that a player must obtain signatures from each of their teachers and have it turned in on time to the coach.

Equipment:

Players should come with clothing that allows them to move freely (Floyd Dryden P.E. Uniforms will work) and athletic shoes.  Students who will be playing during the basketball games will also receive uniforms that must be returned to the coach.
