Travel with Caution - posted Oct 27, 2008 03:15 PM - archived Nov 07, 2008

Parents and Students!

It is dark out there and cars can't see you! Students in Mrs. Box's classes, please bring your coats to P.E this Wednesday, Oct 29th (Monday next week for Mr. Byouer's classes) so that you can design and stick reflective tape on your coat. Make sure you check with your parents about which coat will work best to protect you this fall and winter! We will also be handing out reflective patches that can clip onto your back pack. 7th and 8th grade students who are not in P.E./ Healthy Lifestyles this semester...please stop by Mrs. Box's or Mr. Byouer's office to get your patch!

Mr. Milliron will be watching to see who is wearing their tape or patch and will want to reward you!! We can't stress how important and life saving this small act can be for all of our students!

An Invitation for you to be involved - posted Sep 15, 2008 12:15 PM - archived Sep 23, 2008

The Juneau School District invites you to participate on September 22nd in the process of developing the annual District Improvement Plan. The focus of the plan is to increase our students’ achievement and therefore meet the goals set forth by the No Child Left Behind Act. Currently the district is in the second year of Level 4 Corrective Action

As parent or guardian, your participation in this process will give us the opportunity to consult with you as we work together in developing this plan. As we strive to improve, we look at the students' and district's needs as a whole and prepare action plans that are based in researched-based practices.

This meeting will take place on Monday, September 22, 2008, at 6 pm in the Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School Library.
