Reminder all students that participate in school sports must have a sports physical on file with the nurse. Reminder the school is closed at 4:45 pm. If you need to see your student participating in wrestling use the side door to the gym to gain access. Wrestlers must make prior arrangements for transporation home after practice as the main part of the building is closed at 4:45 pm. The school phone located at the attendance office is available for student use from 3:00 to 3:30 pm to make those phone calls home.

With only four wrestlers Floyd Dryden middle school finished 18th out of 29 schools at the Middle School State Championships in Fairbanks this past weekend.  There were 463 wrestlers from Ketchikan to Barrow.  There were 32 man brackets in each weight class.  The best showing for Floyd Dryden was Demetrius Campos who was seeded 7th.   Enroute to the finals he defeated the number2 and 3 seeded wrestlers, only losing 9-6 in the finals to the top wrestler in the state at 105.  The results for the Floyd  Dryden wrestlers were:
Dartanan Campos – 4 wins two  losses.
Tyler West – 3 wins 3 losses - 8th place
Luke Swigger – 2 wins 2 losses – 6th place
Demetrius Campos – 4 wins 1 loss – 2nd place

Wrestling Practice 3:15 to 4:45 pm Wrestlers must make prior arrangements for transportation after practice. The main building is locked at 5:00 pm.

The Middle School Wrestling Tournament scheduled for January 16-17, 2009 located in Wrangell, Alaska has been cancelled.

Students participating in wrestling this season must have a current sports physical on file. Sports physicals will be offerred today from 1 to 3 pm at the nurse's office. Please call Marcia Ardnt the FDMS nurse if you have any questions. 463-1850

The pre-conditioning wrestling season begins today at 3:15 pm. Practice is from 3:145 to 4:30 pm in the FDMS gym.
