Feeling creative? Take the inspiration you get from authors, books and reading and design a bookmark for the annual BookMark Contest sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Contest rules and entry blanks are in the Dryden library.

All are welcome to the first Readers' Cafe of the school year hosted by Ms. Capobianco's students. After school (3:00-4:15) on Friday, September 18, the library will be open for students, families and staff to sit, read, and enjoy food and conversation about books. Questions? Summer Fun at the Public Library: Check it out! In July, Carol Race will do a Readers’ Theater program for grades 6-8. They will meet 6:30 Tuesday nights at the downtown library. June 17, July 15, August 5, Wednesday Evenings at the Downtown Library, 6-9 pm, we will have family movie and craft nights. June 13, July 11, and Aug 8, Saturday Evenings at the Downtown Library, 6-9 pm, Kids and families are welcome to join us for an evening of games. We provide pizza, drinks, a Wii, and wireless for laptops. We'll turn off the computer timers and bring some cards and board games. 6-9 pm Downtown library. Do you have some favorite poems that you'd like to share but you're not willing to read one on FDTV? Well, your opportunity is fast approaching. Thursday, April 30 is Poem in Your Pocket Day. The idea is simple: select a poem, carry copies in your pocket and pass them along as the day goes by. Go to Poets.org to find poems from the pocket selections. Download and copy a few to share with folks on Poem in Your Pocket Day. Smiles are guaranteed! |
